The registration of .срб domains is expected to begin early 2012, and the bodies of RNIDS have approved the necessary rules and are currently working on registration procedures and software and on testing the new domain.
.RS domain name registration tasks are performed for end-users (registrants) by accredited .RS domain registrars, and RNIDS is tasked with managing the central register of .rs domain names.
.RS domain names within the .rs TLD registry are registered in the following domain name spaces:
The following have the right to register a .rs domain name:

A fee is payable to an accredited registrar for .rs domain name registration tasks. The registration fee for .rs domain names charged by accredited registrars may vary. Look at the list of accredited registrars and choose the one whose offer best suits you.
You can check whether the domain name you want to register is available (using the WHOIS service) on the RNIDS website or an accredited registrar's website.
A .rs domain name can contain numbers (0-9), letters of the English alphabet (a-z) and hyphens (-). The length of the domain name cannot be shorter than 2, nor longer than 63 characters. The domain name may not contain a hyphen at the beginning or the end (for example: www.-domen-.rs) and may not contain two consecutive hyphens in the third and fourth positions (for example: www.do--men.rs).
A registrant may register multiple .rs domain names. Separate registration requests are submitted for each registration of a .rs domain name.
If the domain name you want is available, you must provide the accredited registrar with information about the registrant and the administrative and technical contacts for the domain you want to register. These may be all one person or different people.
A registrant is a person (end-user, domain name holder) who registers and uses a .rs domain. A registrant may be a local or foreign individual or legal entity.
The administrative contact is an individual, a citizen of the Republic of Serbia, or a legal entity with a registered office in the Republic of Serbia authorised to receive information from RNIDS significant to the registration on behalf of the registrant and to make changes to all information regarding the registration of the .rs domain name on behalf of the registrant. Bear in mind that the administrative contact has the same authority to manage the domain name as the registrant (holder) of the domain name.
The technical contact is an individual or legal entity authorised to make changes to technical information relating to the registration of the .rs domain name (DNS server information and changes to the person appointed as the technical contact) on behalf of the registrant. In practice, the technical contact is usually your hosting company with whom the website for which you are registering the domain is hosted.
By submitting a .rs domain name registration request, you explicitly confirm that you are familiar with the General Terms for the Registration of .rs Domain Names and the Rules of Procedure for Arbitration Proceedings for the Resolution of .rs Domain Name Registration Disputes and that you accept them in their entirety.
When submitting an .rs domain name registration request, you must provide the accredited registrar with accurate, complete and current information about the registration.

The DNS servers provided with the .rs domain name registration request must be active no later than three days after submitting the request.
In order to speed up the domain name registration process, RNIDS has made it possible for registrants to send the required documentation at a later date. You must send to the accredited registrar copies of the required documents supporting your right to register the .rs domain name no more than 30 days from the date you submitted the domain name registration request. If RNIDS does not receive the required copies of documents via the accredited registrar within 30 days of the date the registration request was submitted, the domain name will be deleted without the right to a refund of the domain name registration fee.
RNIDS registers .rs domain names on a first-come, first-served basis. This effectively means that if two or more interested registrants simultaneously request the registration of the same domain name, RNIDS will only accept the request that arrived first.
The moment RNIDS receives a domain name registration request, the RNIDS system automatically sends confirmation that the request has been received to the registrant's e-mail address.
RNIDS will register the domain no later than 24 hours after sending confirmation that the registration request was received. In practice, this happens a lot sooner – within a few minutes.
Your desired .rs domain name is registered when RNIDS enters the domain name in the WHOIS database of the rsTLD registry.
Your .rs domain name becomes active when RNIDS enters the data from the WHOIS database into the DNS table of the rsTLD registry and makes the table active on the primary DNS server.
A domain name is registered for a period of between one and 10 years with the possibility of renewing the registration. .rs domain names are registered and renewed for whole years which means that it is not possible to register a domain name for 6 months, 14 months, etc.
