At the session held on 21 April, the Board of Directors of ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) supported the request to delegate the management of the Cyrillic domain .срб to RNIDS.

The letter we have received from ICANN reads:
"This is a note to inform you that the ICANN Board of Directors passed a resolution today supporting the request to delegate the .xn--90a3ac domain to Serbian National Register of Internet Domain Names (RNIDS)."

Upon receiving the support of the ICANN Board of Directors, the request of RNIDS is to be submitted to the U.S. Department of Commerce for final approval.

This step in the procedure of establishing the Cyrillic top-level domain makes us closer to fulfilling the requirements for the approaching commencement of the .срб domain registration process. During its first phase, only .rs domain users will be able to register .срб domain names.
